Jim and Anna Hyonjoo Lint Scholarship

Hello everyone, here is a great criminal justice scholarship opportunity for students. The Lint Center for National Security Studies, Inc. is offering the Jim & Anna Hyonjoo Lint Scholarship to students who are seeking a criminal justice degree and want to pursue a career in Counterintelligence, National Security, and International Affairs. There will be at least one $1500 scholarship awarded per year, the number of scholarships awarded will depend on the amount of donations received.

The only eligibility requirement is the applicant must be admitted to a university before applying for the scholarship. There are several documents a student must submit to apply for the scholarship. Students must submit a completed application, a photograph, current resume, proof of acceptance and enrollment at a 4-year university, academic transcripts, copies of special academic awards, and 2 letters of recommendation (from a teacher, supervisor, or community leader).

Additionally, applicants must submit 2 essays: one on Counterintelligence and National Security and the other is a Personal essay. The Counterintelligence and National Security essay should be 600-800 words and explain one of the goals or concepts of the Lint Center. The application gives a good description of what the scholarship committee is looking for, but they are looking for ground-breaking innovating ideas. The Personal essay should be one page, and discuss why you are right for the scholarship. The scholarship committee wants to understand you, your goals, your thoughts, and get a general feeling of who you are. At the end of both essays the student must input the following “I (request/do not request) this essay to be published on the Lint Center for National Security Studies, Inc website (with/without) my name published.”

All documents, including the completed application, must be scanned into a PDF format and emailed to Scholarship@LintCenter.org. The due date is July 31st; any applications received after July 31st will be considered for the following year.

You can get more information by emailing Info@LintCenter.org or going to this site, http://www.lintcenter.org/Scholarships/JAHL.htm.

The application can be found at http://www.lintcenter.org/LintCenter-SchForm-01.doc.

Good luck and I’m sorry I didn’t find this sooner, but keep this great criminal justice scholarship opportunity in mind when applying for scholarships next year.
