January 18, 2001 - LearningLaw LLC Announces Glen Secor Joins as CEO

BOSTON, MA and CONCORD, NH  (18 January 2001)  -- Glen Secor, formerly CEO of Yankee Book Peddler, Inc. and founder of Yankee Rights Management, has joined LearningLaw LLC as CEO.  Secor has also made an equity investment in the company.

LearningLaw was founded in 1999 by Klia Ververidis, Jeffrey Powers and William Shaw, three alumni of Franklin Pierce Law Center in Concord, NH, where Secor is an Adjunct Professor of Law.  The company provides online legal guides for non-lawyers.  LearningLaw's first product, Aristotle ™ (available at www.learninglaw.com), includes a hypertext outline of first year law school subject matter and insights into law school and career success for incoming law students and those thinking about entering law school.  The company plans to release a series of business law titles over the coming months, beginning with Patent Law, Trademark Law, and Copyright Law titles in early 2001.

"Glen is a proven leader.  His experience in both traditional as well as electronic publishing and with Internet startup companies makes him the ideal candidate to lead LearningLaw.  We are thrilled that he has joined our team," said Ververidis, VP of Business Development.  "Glen's experience as a law school professor will help us develop our message, and his experience as a publishing professional will help us to deliver it," added Powers, VP of Content Development.

"I am very excited to be joining LearningLaw at this early stage in the company's growth," said Secor.  "This is an outstanding team of people and they've built an impressive first offering in Aristotle™. Our goal moving forward is to develop innovative learning and training tools for business professionals, engineers, and other non-lawyers.  Our products will take the form of online reference tools initially, but will rapidly evolve to include structured training and distance learning components.  We will also seek to build communities of business professionals interested in particular areas of the law by offering bulletin board and chat features on our site."

LearningLaw plans to distribute its products on its own website, as well as through partnerships with e-book distributors and distance learning providers.  The company will develop its own content, but is also interested in licensing third-party material for inclusion in its products.  Sitesurfer Publishing LLC, of Concord, NH, provides and e-publishing and e-commerce services for LearningLaw.
